What is IWB stands for? IWB is the short form for Interactive White Board. Ever you all heard about this before? First time I was heard about this word was during first practical of ICT in Science that was conducted by Miss Suzi, our charming instructor. More detail about this was explained by Prof Dr Sopia Md Yasin, our lecturer on next lecture week. What does means by Interactive White Board? In my mind on that time…oh it is just similar with normal white board that we can found it in primary, secondary school or even in our lecture hall’s university. So, how is the board can be interactive? Is it too friendly to us??? Oh no..my brain cannot interpret it..
HOWEVER, once miss suzi shows some movements and applications of white board in front of class, it make me and other friends so shock, it is touch screen board. ‘It is so interesting!!
Let’s make some flashback on our prior knowledge: before this we noticed that a computer is normally controlled by a mouse but now we can touch the interactive whiteboard to control the mouse cursor instead. As we move our finger or special pen across the whiteboard, which has the computers image on it, the mouse cursor follows, as shown in the picture below.
Moreover, everyone is so proud, when our Dr say that we all the one which is so special and get the opportunity to use it in coming soon presentation of ICT in Science class. In UPSI only our faculty has it and we as science student especially sem 5 use it. We are also must use IWB instead of normal power point slides. Oh no, there are some butterfly in my stomach and I believe other student also feel the same thing because before this we just apply power point slides skill in our presentation over semester, but for this class, all the assignments must be presented by using IWB skills. Gladness, miss Suzi teach us how to use it confidently. In order to make our task become easier, everyone of us are compulsory to install this IWB software in our own notebook. This IWB has other component like its marker pen and duster. We also can take the pic use the software of IWB.
Hopefully, today and onwards, all school and university in our country will be provided with this advanced technology. As a result, we can say goodbye to the dusty chalkboard and dusty marker pen normal white board.
